Red Mountain Project

Project Overview

The Red Mountain Project is a past exploration decline at the top of a mountain peak between the Cambria Ice Fields and the Bromley Glacier.

JDS was contracted to provide procurement, engineering and labour for the re-opening of an underground mine that had been flooded for 20 years prior. JDS utilized refurbished equipment and infrastructure from previous mining activities. Work included dewatering and rehabilitation of 2,000 meters of 4.5 x 4.5 meter decline, including the establishment of all infrastructure and removal of mine debris. While the dewatering program was ongoing, JDS also serviced two underground diamond drill rigs.
