Cosmo Mine

Project Overview

Crocodile Gold Corp.’s (Crocodile) 100% owned Cosmo Gold mine is located in the Northern Territory of Australia about 250 km south-southeast of Darwin. The Cosmo/Howley corridor consists of several deposits including the Cosmo Gold Mine which commenced commercial production in 2013. The Cosmo Gold mine consists of the Cosmo Deeps and Howley deposits totaling approximately 567 ha.

Project Scope

In 2013 JDS was retained by Crocodile to assess their Australian operations, with emphasis on the resources in the Northern Territory. Involvement included assessment of the Cosmo Deeps underground resources, a cost and operational improvement of the Cosmo Mine and Union Reefs process plant including identification, recommendation and implementation of cost savings initiatives, Cosmo crown pillar assessment including the resource, tailings removal, mine plan and economic assessment, and high level review of the Stawell and Fosterville operations in Victoria State, including assessment of the PEA and supporting work for the Big Hill open pit project. JDS operational improvements at Cosmo mine helped drive all-in sustain cost per ounce down from $1,600 to $1,300 per ounce based on reported results.
